It all started with a routine mammogram, so get your ladies checked annually! Then an ultrasound, then a biopsy, on December 23rd, 2019 we heard the cancer word for the first time. Lumpectomy on January 13, 2020. January 17th 2020 confirmed stage 1 Invasive and Ductal Carcinoma In Situ in right breast, and margins not clear. Difficult decision to go for a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, node biopsy. Done, February 26th, 2020. Still not clear margins, but clear nodes (NO CHEMO!) cancer too close to the skin, need skin from another body part. Still TBD on next surgery, the story continues....
