Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Eldon's journey started around 20 years ago when he was diagnosed (at the time) with Guillain Barre Syndrome. 10 years later he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. 2 years ago he got pneumonia and influenza and was in the ICU for 8 days. That really took him down. He has been on oxygen since then. The end of October his finger tips started turning blue. We went to see a Rheumatologist and she ran a very rare blood test that came back positive. He was then diagnosed with Anti Synthetase Syndrome and they think he was misdiagnosed 20 years ago with Guillain Barre Syndrome. The Dr's also suggested, at that point, that he start the process to get a lung transplant. He started that process the middle of November which includes a bunch of tests to see if he qualifies. If he qualifies the surgery will take place in Madison, Wisconsin. We could be there for up to 6 - 12 months. We will keep you posted with updates on this site. We would appreciate your prayers as we enter this journey in our lives. We know that God has everything in his hands and will never give us more than we can handle.
