Eileen McKenna

First post: Apr 4, 2017 Latest post: May 9, 2017
On a gloomy afternoon of March 29, 2017,  we lost our beautiful mother, Eileen McKenna, unexpectedly when she suffered a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (otherwise known as a AAA)  while at home. There are no warning signs for this condition and no preventive measures that can be done once the ruture occurs.
Despite the utter shock, disbelief and loss we all feel, we want to also express our eternal gratitude for the absolute profound outpouring of love, support and acts of service we've all received in this difficult time. We'd especially like to thank all the surgeons, residents, and nurses who absolutely bent over backwards to give our mom the best care possible and keep us so well informed along the way. If you want a reason why the bumper sticker campaign states "take me to Regions" their team is it.
Due to the very unexpected nature of her passing, and the coordination necessary to bring her extended friends and family in from all corners of the globe, we will not be having any immediate services in this acute settting of grief and sadness. Please stay tuned to this Caring Bridge site for further details of funeral and memorial arrangements to come. We will hopefully be setting up a specific date in the next weeks to months so that everyone can make travel and logistical arrangements.
Once again we cannot thank all of you enough for all your love and support. It truly means so very much to all of us to have this wonderful circle of friends and family bolstering us up in this time of need.
Much love,
Meghan, Caitlin, Liam and Declan
