Hi!! My name is Edu. I’m an 8 year old boy who loves doing what every typical 8 year old boy does: playing soccer, watching football and messing with my older sisters! Unfortunately, my life is a little different than most boys my age. I spend a lot of time at the hospital because I am currently battling Leukemia. I was diagnosed with ALL leukemia on Dec 3, 2014. I started chemo treatment and after two long and difficult years I entered remission. However, on March 10, 2017, the doctors found out that my leukemia was active again since it relapsed. I had to start another chemo treatment, this time being more intense, as I had to receive higher dosis since my leukemia is somewhat resistant. Two weeks into my treatment I had appendicitis and had to undergo an appendectomy. I am currently in post surgery recovery but I still have high fevers and some difficulties breathing. I hope to recover quickly to be able to restart my chemo treatment. Once my leukemia is in remission again, I will need to get a bone marrow transplant.
