Our friend and neighbor is in a long-term care facility and will most likely not be returning home. Ed has chosen Darrell Anderson and Terry Kirtz as his personal representatives in all things including acting on his behalf for medical decisions and care. He has been transferred to Oakview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 2700 Barker Street in Silver Spring. The phone number is 301-565-0300. He is in room 207-C. We will update this site regularly so that everyone can follow his care. He is accepting visitors at this time but due to the fact that he is so hard-of-hearing the phone service is not currently working for him. His request is that you contact the nurses station on the second floor and see if he is willing to have company and to also alert him that you will be visiting. Please don't bring him any food at this point as his diet is being monitored by the staff to make sure it is safe for him. Check with the staff is he has asked you to provide something to make sure it is ok. Lastly, the staff has been directed, by Ed, to NOT share any medical information to anyone other than Darrell and Terry. So if you ask the staff will only let you know how he is in very generic terms. We will be using this site several times a week in order to keep everyone who is interested in his care.
