In June 2021, Ed was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer with a tumor on his left lung and affecting the lymph nodes on that lung as well.  After much sacrifice, struggle, chemo and radiation, Ed kicked that tumor's ass!  Of course, it took it's toll on his body and mind, but we all know how tough Eddie is and he handled it like a champ.  The goal was cure and he was clear of any detectable disease by the end of the year.
Unfortunately, in July of 2022, the cancer has reared it's ugly head again and has been found in his spine.  It has completely taken over his T12 vertebra and some of the surrounding soft tissue.  In August, he completed a series of 5 radiation treatments and we now await his scans in mid-September to make the plans for chemotherapy again.  In the meantime, this little break will give his body a little break and hopefully he can gain some weight in the meantime.
