Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  While we know many friends and family wish to visit her, it is just not possible at this time. Emily is too sick. To keep everyone informed, we will do our best to communicate with you here about her progress. We want to focus on Emily and won't be responding to texts, etc.

On Sunday 2/5/17 Emily was feeling very ill. Monday morning she drove herself to urgent care. After some blood tests, urgent care suggested she go to ER. She was admitted to the hospital via the ER Monday evening. Tuesday morning things got worse. She was in liver failure. It is not clear why.

There was not a bed for a patient with liver failure available a the U of M, so Tuesday evening she was transported to Mayo via helicopter. Liver failure affects many other organs and systems. She has been on dialysis to help her kidney function. Her levels are stable, not good, but not getting worse. The hope is that her liver will regenerate to do its work again. At this point it is not certain. It is a long wait and see process. If her liver does not start to regenerate, a liver transplant may be necessary.

We ask for your prayers and good thoughts for our girl.
