Dr. Howland was born and raised in Murray, Utah. He developed manual dexterity and a love for the arts through 13 years of piano lessons. Before pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah, he successfully fulfilled a 2-year church mission to St. Petersburg, Russia. During that time, Dr. Howland was selected as the lead interpreter and coordinator for volunteer efforts in the world-renowned Hermitage Museum.
