Family and friends …. We are using this forum to keep you updated on Earle’s battle to BEAT CANCER!  In August 2019, a tumor was discovered on the left side of his thyroid.  Within a couple of weeks, it was determined to be cancer and the tumor was surgically removed on September 30th.  The difficult part is that the tumor was wrapped around the nerve to his left vocal cord and the nerve had to be sacrificed – which means he can barely talk, much less sing.  Pathology and genetic mutation studies on the tumor led to a diagnosis of Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer which is the most aggressive form of thyroid cancer.  With the recommendation of his Emory surgeon, Earle and Susan traveled to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX in Oct 2019 for further testing and treatment.  He completed weekly chemo and twice/day radiation for 5 weeks at MD Anderson during Nov-Dec 2019.   In Aug 2020, Earle began a clinical trial at MD Anderson that requires chemo pills daily and immunotherapy infusions every 2 weeks in Houston.  We cannot tell you how much we appreciate your support, prayers, and words of hope and encouragement.  Our strength comes from God and from our loving family and friends which includes each of you!  #EarleStrong  #GodIsGreat
