Eamonn Eugene Mullaney decided to grace us with his presence 3 1/2 months early at just under 25 weeks.  Wednesday, August 31st started off as a normal day for mom... woke up, went to work and was feeling relatively well.  Around 3pm that afternoon, she called the doctor due to experiencing some abdominal cramping.  It was determined that she should work on drinking some water to stay well hydrated to see if that helped.  By midnight that night, the cramping still persisted and mom decided to call the doctor again and was told to come in to the hospital.  As it turned out, mom was not dehydrated and was actually 6cm dilated.  At that point, it was a certainty that baby Eamonn would be coming into the world much earlier than anyone expected.  The staff at the hospital tried to slow the labor down but baby Eamonn had other plans.  Mom was admitted into the hospital around 1:30am on September 1st and 2 hours later, baby Eamonn was delivered.  He weighed 1lb 13oz and was 13" long.  He was taken away immediately to have breathing tube inserted and to get everything checked out.  He took to the breathing tube very well and his other vitals looked good.  Dad then joined Eamonn to travel to Boston Children's Hospital to ensure he could receive the best care possible.
