Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

This journey began the fall of 2013 when Dwight first started having difficulty swallowing.  In January 2014, he was diagnosed with stage IV squamous cell cancer at the base of his tongue.  He completed radiation and chemotherapy that spring.  It was difficult, but he made it through and was doing well.  In February 2016 new lesions were found just above his vocal cords.  Five endoscopic surgeries over a year and a half seemed to be keeping the cancer at bay.

A routine CT in July 2017 showed possible cancer in his lungs.  The PET scan showed cancer is two spots in his throat, as well as in his armpit lymph nodes and in his lungs.  Dwight's journey through aggressive chemotherapy is about to begin.
