I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer just before Christmas. We were visiting Tonya, our oldest daughter in Charlotte NC at the time. After Christmas I was referred to an oncologist in Charlotte. After that consultation, Sherree & I decided go to Houston to get a second opinion at MD Anderson. Primarily because they have Dr.'s there that specialize in esophageal cancer.

After our initial appointments we have decided that MD Anderson is the place to be. The cancer is stage 3 so I will begin treatment around February 1 and will be here for approximately 3 months. Dr.'s are optimistic that the cancer can be cured, as am I. Our biggest issue at the moment is purely logistics. As you know we live in our motor home full time, so our plan was to bring it here. There a couple of RV parks that provide a shuttle to the hospital which means we would not need to drive in the Houston traffic, which is the worst I have seen. Unfortunately the rodeo & stock show are in town for a couple of months so we have had to find other accommodations which is turning out to be expensive.
