Hello family and friends! Thank you all so much for the love and support you've sent to Drew. In order to cut down on texts and calls, we'll be using this site to keep everyone updated in one place.  As most of you know, Drew dissected his vertebral artery early last Thursday morning. With a sudden unilateral headache, some vertigo and arm numbness we headed to the emergency room. The dissection caused blood to collect in the vessel which led to a stroke.  He was able to receive TPA and has been on Coumadin and Heparin therapy.  We are currently awaiting word on rehab placement. We are praying we will obtain insurance verification for Craig Hospital.  Drew's deficits are ~ a right visual field cut that has removed is peripheral vision on the right to about 30 degrees from midline.  Other than that, no other physical deficits.  He does have some cognitive delays - mostly with short term memory.  With time (for swelling to subside) and in-patient therapy , we're praying he'll be back to normal soon!

We apologize that we have limited visitors. We know everyone wants to see him, but while he loves the love and attention, the brain stimulation wears him out quickly.  At least in these first few days, they are telling us that his brain needs to rest. If you could resist sending him texts on his phone right now, that would be great. It's hard for him to answer them.  If you need to reach us, call or text Lisa at 303-478-1683.

We'll try to post frequently to keep everyone in the loop!
