Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
After 6 months of waiting, we have FINALLY been given a date for Doug's kidney transplant!  Thankfully, Doug's brother, Dennis, was a match and has offered to donate his kidney.  The big day will be October 22.  We've been told that Doug will spend 5 days in the hospital and then will have to spend three weeks in Rochester, so doctors can monitor his anti-rejection meds and get them just right.
For those of you who don't know, Doug has polycystic kidney disease.  Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is an inherited disorder in which clusters of cysts develop primarily within your kidneys, causing your kidneys to enlarge and lose function over time.

CaringBridge is a nonprofit social network dedicated to helping family and friends communicate with and support loved ones during a health journey. Learn more about CaringBridge.
