Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Most of you know that Doug was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma, also called a vestibular schwannoma, a few months ago after visiting an ENT to discuss issues with hearing loss, balance and facial numbness. The tumor is quite large (about the size of a golf ball) and pressing on the brain stem. Needless to say, it must be removed.

Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, March 23rd. We have just heard that all surgeries that are not deemed “medically necessary” are being cancelled. We do not believe this includes Doug and have not received any news from the hospital in that regard.

We appreciate all prayers! We have the best possible surgical team and bigger than that, we have God. He still moves mountains.  We are praying for a quick and perfect recovery.

Our biggest obstacle; Doug has never stayed in a hospital, had a surgery, or even an IV. He is claiming he will not even eat the hospital food. I’m pretty sure he will change his mind on that one. Lol!

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement!
