In January, Doug came home feeling unwell. He was initially diagnosed with severe burnout by his family doctor. Because of Covid he did not have an in person visit with her so she did not actually see him.
He had neurological symptoms which progressively got worse but he refused to go to hospital or for an in-person visit. Finally 2 weeks ago he was so bad we forced him to emerg. He was diagnosed at our local hospital with a brain tumor and was immediately sent to Toronto Western, further testing and in a matter of hours was on the operating table.
It was found to be a glioblastoma grade 4 which is the worst brain tumor a person could have. It's aggressive and incurable with a life expectancy of 12-14 months. We are people of faith and as such we are looking for God to heal Doug and many are praying to this end.
We are off to Princess Margaret on Wednesday for a consultation on treatment. I will keep you updated here as we go along. Thanks to all of you.
