Doug was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, November 22 after experiencing unresolved edema and high blood pressure for a few weeks. After running multiple tests, he was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome; a kidney disorder that causes your body to excrete too much protein. This syndrome is a secondary condition and he is waiting results of a kidney biopsy, performed on Friday, November 24, to help diagnose the primary condition. The pathology will be reviewed on Monday, November 27, however a diagnosis may take awhile. His blood pressure has been resolved but he is still retaining too much fluid.
