Many of you know Douglas as Claudia's husband and Amparo and Duncan's dad. Our children all went to the same school, Riviera Hall Lutheran School, and many of us went to Dr. Claudia Romano for our dental needs as she is a great dentist. At my last visit to the dentist, I was told of Douglas's situation. One year ago, Douglas was diagnosed with ALS. As you can only imagine, this news has devastated the family and all who know them. They moved to a house in south Redondo Beach so they could be on one story due to Douglas's wheelchair. Claudia takes her husband to get treatments at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, takes him to physical therapy and goes to group therapy, and she is still very busy with her dental practice. Claudia welcomes the help of suppling meals to the family. Duncan is in his senior year of high school, and Amparo is home from college for the holidays. Thank you for listening to Douglas's story.
