On Wednesday 1/18/17 Doug was in a serious snowmobile accident. He incurred multiple injuries.  The impact was all on the right side of his body.  There are multiple rib fractures on the right side both front and back which punctured his right lung. The liver and right kidney had small lacerations . Function of  both the liver and kidney have returned to normal.  He has a fracture to his  right scapula. Currently he is on a ventilator to assist him with his breathing and to keep his right lung inflated. He has developed pneumonia and is fighting  a fever. The antibiotics have not been successful and they are making changes  to find the  antibiotic that will be  most effective for him.  He is hospitalized at Hennipen  County Medical Center(HCMC) downtown Minneapolis in the intensive care unit.
