In October 2010, I received devastating news that I was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Odds were against me and the journey has been trying.  In November of 2010 I began my first chemo and radiation treatment followed by lung surgery.  In this process, I was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer in which resulted in surgery.  My cancer stayed at bay until the summer of 2012 in which the lung cancer had metastasized to my brain resulting in brain surgery.  From there, I have continued to have countless chemo, radiation therapy and surgeries chasing this nasty disease. I have beat all odds up to this point.
Unfortunately, treatments are no longer working and I have chosen quality of life over quantity to be able to spend my final days with family and friends.  Hospice care comes into my home to assist in making me comfortable.  I value and appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have followed me.

A GoFundMe site has been created to help with expenses.  if you wish to donate  https://www.gofundme.com/278wgb89
