Double J Tribe IT TAKES A VILLAGE Double J Tribe

First post: Oct 4, 2019
Hello everyone,
I have decided to keep a journal to keep all our friends and family that know Joshua and Justin updated on our current journey . I am doin this to help spread awareness to all of the information I’m learning of invisible disabilities and help my babies see how much love and support we have . If you don’t know Joshua suffered a tragic accident 4/6/2015 when he was just being a kid and playing nerf gun war with his siblings and neighborhood friends .. Instantly life changed .. not only for Joshua but for his family and his everyday life . Joshua was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and skull fracture . I have posted the pictures of the wording from his reports in the albums to help everyone understand the diagnosis . Although he is a miracle walking unfortunately he will always face challenges that comes along with a brain injury . We have routinely followed up with testing with his team of doctors at cooks and now we will meet with intake dwot at our local mhmr  today to get a treatment plan to help Joshua with his medication management and severe depression he is facing . He is experiencing memory loss, impulse, low self esteem , he struggles with his peers understanding why he sometimes is not a bit more up to par with majority, and as you all know our family has faced drastic changes with the divorce . I am raising 2 boys right now who both have my full time needs as their caretaker . Justin was recently placed back in His regular school .Before summer I was let go of my job due to having to be homebound school with him as they sent a teacher to house daily for his education needs. Justin was diagnosed with emotional disturbance . Both boys have started school off with the new programs and staff that the isd brought into play and It has been a blessing . Justin soon will begin outpatient therapy for coping skills of learning to redirect when he has outburst .. both boys have made amazing progress considering it’s just me trying to juggle their daily needs. Unfortunately their dad has moved to Maine and it’s been a drastic and emotional turn mixed in with the other health conditions. I will do my very best to update and I want to take time to thank my circle of people that have been my rock through this. Although there have been times I want to pack us up and move close to my mom .. she is pushing me to stay strong and prove to myself I can do this .. we can not change anything else in their life and Venus is their home and they both for once love their classes and the district has provided the education and skills needed for their situation . All positive notes for the boys you want to  pass along are encouraged .. Extra prayers I’m askin as I’m living on limited income and waiting on any additional income to be approved through process .. Thank you all for following our journey!
