Whenever Dorothy O’Neals name comes up in a conversation it’s inevitably followed by “Oh, I just LOVE Dorothy! What an amazing woman”. It’s true, she is the most selfless, nurturing person that we know. She’s also BUSY. To say that Dorothy has a full plate is a gross understatement. Dorothy is a mom to two college aged girls and three high school boys, one of which has severe cerebral palsy. Her husband, Ron, has a demanding job at Dell and teaches marketing courses a couple nights a week. Dorothy works at Ride On Center for Kids (R.O.C.K.), a passion program that she discovered in researching physical therapy options for her son. She started as an instructor and now heads up Volunteering to ensure the students and horses at R.O.C.K. are well cared for. Dorothy is devoted to her church and community and she is the most loyal, caring friend a person could hope for. She’s the consummate care-"giver" – never the "taker". So a diagnosis of Stage 2 Breast Cancer may be a sucker punch to the gut but we know that Cancer picked the wrong woman. We are confident that Dorothy will fight the good fight and we’ll be celebrating victory in the near future. In the meantime, thank you for joining us in rallying around the O’Neal family. In the most challenging of times, we see the best in people and that is certain to be true in this case. Stay tuned for updates on Dorothy’s journey and ways you can help this amazing family.
