Dad took mom to OSF emergency room on Wednesday night(2-10-16) because she was unable to talk.  When they got to the ER they thought she was having a stroke so they did a CT scan.  The doctor said there was a large mass on the left side of her brain pressing on her language center.  Before they could take her to an MRI she had a seizure.  They immediately started a steroid to help with swelling in her brain and try and shrink the tumor a bit.  When she first woke up she was saying words, but nothing that made sense.  As the days passed and the steroids hit therapeutic levels she was able to say more things that made sense, but also things that did not make sense.  Next, they did a full body CT to look for any other tumors.  There were none. The neurosurgeon, Dr Tsung said he thought that the tumor was a Glioblastoma.  Surgery was scheduled for 2-15-16.
