Dorothy Lewis

This page was created for the lovely and inspirational, Dorothy Lewis, in hopes to keep all of her friends and family updated on her medical status. In March of 2016, Dorothy planned to trek up to Mount Everest base camp, a feat she was motivated and determined to conquer!

Unfortunately, 8 weeks prior to her trip to Nepal, she developed a pinched nerve in her leg, the femoral cutaneous nerve, and had to face making one of the most difficult decisions in her life. She decided to cancel her trip to Everest, and would then start exploring the dozens of pain alleviation treatments that were recommended to her. After going to physical therapy, acupuncture, sports medicine doctors, yoga, steroid shot injections  - she was still left with unbearable pain. In September 2016, Dorothy got an MRI done and the results came back showing numerous complications; spinal stenosis, bulging discs, and pinched nerves in her L5/S1.

Tomorrow morning, November 30th, Dorothy will undergo surgery performed by a specialist at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah.

The purpose of this page is to keep you updated on her recovery. Please do not send money or donations, we are only asking for positive thoughts, prayer and love!
