Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

This past summer we began to notice changes in mom, cognitivaly, behaviorly and in her memory.  We began seeing a memory care doctor to try to get some answers as to what these changes were caued by.  Mom has been through every possible test available to get those answers.   The scans of her brain and her functioning tests create a puzzling picture as they do not match.  We know that mom has dementia, but no actually diagnosis as to the exact type.  It appears that she may also have Parkinson's, due to the many tremors she is experiencing.

In the last two months mom's physical health has declined rapidly.  She has become extremely weak, unable to walk, barely eating or drinking, and lost over 25 pounds.  She spent 4 days at Region's Hospital and we fought hard while there to get answers as to why she is physically failing but still have no answers.  Due to some findings on a CAT Scan she will be having a PET Scan to determine if there is cancer  anywhere in her body.  While we are continuing to seek answers and care, she can no longer live at home in her state of health.  She  is currently in a transitional care  unit of a nursing home.  Our goal is to get her stronger and healthier so that she can move to an assisted living with dad.
