Dorene Schmidt

It started on Sunday, February 26th. My mother in law had been fighting a cold for a little bit. Starting sunday evening, she started to feel a bit worse. For the next few days afterwards, Dorene kept getting a little bit sicker each day.  On Wednesday evening, her son ( my husband) received a phone call at 11:30. She was ready to go to the hospital. Once  at the hospital in Wessington Springs, the doctors felt Dorene would be better in Sioux Falls where they had the proper equipment to help her out. So Dorene got to experience an ambulance ride AND an air plane ride to Sioux Falls! Once there, they sent her to the ICU and intubated, putting her on a ventilator. They felt this was best, so she could finally have a rest from fighting to breathe.
