Thank you for visiting Don's CaringBridge site.   We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

HISTORY
On Monday, May 29th, 2017, Don went to the emergency room after experiencing stroke-like symptoms over the Memorial Day weekend.  A CT scan found a mass on the right side of his brain.  Don was sent to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was admitted to the Neurology ICU.

Don had surgery on Thursday, June 1s6, with hopes of removing the mass on his brain.  During surgery the doctors determined that the mass was cancerous and had fingered out into surrounding brain tissue.  Doctors were able to remove most, but not all of the tumor.

A biopsy of the tumor identified that Don has a Grade 4 Glioblastoma tumor, which is very aggressive, treatable, but not curable.

On Sunday, June 4th, Don went home to recover from surgery and prepare to begin radiation and chemotherapy treatments.  With the support of close family and friends, we are prepared to deal with anything that comes our way.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
As Don begins treatment, please follow this website for updates regarding Don.  Your care and concern is truly appreciated.

We have appreciated the meals that friends and family have brought to us; however, going forward, Don hopes to continue cooking (which is his favorite pastime!) as long as he can.   Gift cards to Festival are always welcome.

Don also loves reading, so gift cards to Barnes and Noble would be fun too!

If you would like to send Don a card, our home address is:
7263 Centerville Road
Centerville, MN 55038

A GoFundMe site has been set up so that family and friends can provide financial support for the unexpected expenses related to Don's illness:
