In December 2018 I noticed changes on my left breast and scheduled a diagnostic mammogram to see what was going on. Since my yearly mammogram was a little overdue they went ahead and performed that mammogram as well. The radiologist, Dr. Phillips, noticed a spot on the right breast that was concerning to him so we did an ultrasound and a biopsy. The results were not what I was hoping for. Invasive/Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma. Words that I will never forget. I am just starting this journey behind many whom have already fought the fight. Having a place to share my feelings, what I am going through, treatment plans, successes and so forth will mean a great deal to me and since my brother, Darrin, utilized Caring Bridge during his battle I decided that this was the best forum to do that.
