Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
As most of you know my mom has had a long battle with cancer.  It started in August of 2012 when she was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer.  After a very intense surgery at Mayo and chemo in Moose Lake she was cancer free!  We were aware that her type of cancer is one that would return but were hoping for many cancer free years.  Three years later we are told her primary peritoneal cancer had returned.  She was treated at MN Oncology in Maplewood and was again cancer free.  It was after this round of chemo that my mom made it very clear to the family that she never wanted to go through chemo again.    In August of 2017 her cancer had come back but it was found when it was very small and she only needed radiation.  In October she started to have symptoms like a stroke, after an MRI we found out her cancer had spread to her brain.  She had surgery on her brain and the cancer tumors were removed at Mercy Hospital.  She underwent radiation at Cyberknife which took a hard toll on her body.  She ended up getting a large blood clot in her lung.  She was also diagnosed with pneumonia.  After a couple weeks of being in the hospital we decided to bring in hospice and bring mom home.
