We are moving mom to the Monroe Clinic Hospice House on 9/28/17. We feel that the care will better suit her medical needs. 


As many of you know mom had fallen in August and broke her leg and neck, Freeport sent her to Mercy hospital in Rockford where they did extensive testing and that is where we all found out her condition was worse than some broken bones. Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 bone and lung cancer. It was at that time the Drs recommended hospice and that there was not a treatment available that would not worsen moms pain level already. 


We then moved mom to liberty village where her pain was hard to control and so I began to search for  alternate care.  I was able to find care in Monroe Wisconsin that would only be 10 minutes farther than what I drive now to visit her everyday.  The patient or staff ratio is only 8 to 3 and she can order her own meals daily. 


Moms vitals are all good and strong. When she gets her meds on time her pain is  bearable however I have noticed that she is in more pain in the evening and we are working on a solution to that after the move. I will post her new address for visiting friends and family, but all cards get mailed to me.
