Donna was transported to the ER at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn September 11th, 2017 where she was experiencing severe neck and head pain. After numerous CT and MRI scans it was determined that she suffered from the following: ACOM Aneurysm- This burst aneurysm was successfully removed by a procedure called Coiling on September 12th. In addition, she experienced four hemorrhages on the these different layers of the brain: subdural, subarachoid, and intraventricular. She currently has a drain from skull to prevent fluid build up on the brain. The cardiologist stated her heart was in good shape and she has a strong heart. Her lungs are doing fine. On good days she is able to answer simple questions and have simple conversations. On bad days, there is a lot of confusion. The roller coaster ride is expected. The doctors said that is normal with brain injuries and with being in the ICU for a long time
She is receiving outstanding care at the ICU and gets physical and occupational therapy once a day.
