Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Friday March 26th, our mom's life changed in an instant.  She was leaving for work and took a fall down their garage stairs injuring her spine at the C5,6 and 7 vertebrae in her neck.  She was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI and the next morning they performed spinal surgery to relieve the pressure and allow the spine to heal.  She continues to be in a lot of pain from the fall and also the surgery as the neurosurgeon had warned mom and dad.  They are working on managing the pain through meds so they can move her out of the ICU.   She is not able to move her right leg and has low mobility and feeling in her right arm and hand and overall decreased movement throughout her body.  We are being told by the neuro team that the damage already done to the spine is irreversible and the surgery was to stop any further damage.  Praising the Lord that there is no brain or head injury.   They are telling us that she will be in the ICU for a few more days, then moving to a regular room before starting physical therapy at an inpatient rehab facility for 2-6 weeks.  As of right now it appears that she will need almost full care and will be in a wheelchair.  This is all being told to us from a medical standpoint, but we also believe in the Great Physician who can heal her completely and we ask that you continue to pray with us on her behalf.
