Welcome to our CaringBridge site. I've created it to keep friends and family updated. On behalf of my brother, Michael and I, we appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Let me start by saying the cover photo (a few years old) is a picture of Mom with her 2 reasons for fighting - Maya (now 9) and Scarlett (now 5), but shows how proud she is of her girls. They are the loves of her life. Forget me and Michael - all about the Grandchildren :)

Michael's and my healthy, fit, and optimistic Mom went to the ER on Friday, March 18, 2016  - one week after her 74th birthday. Several hours later she was diagnosed with brain cancer. 3 tumors were discovered on the MRI. More details uncovered over the next few days. In the end we found the 3 tumors were actually 1 and connected. Called a primary brain tumor, a glioblastoma. An aggressive cancer. Nothing Mom did or didn't do caused it, no family history. No science to point to exactly what causes this cancer. In my words it's a fluke. Well...to be truthful... I put another "F" word in front of fluke when I speak to it. No reason, nothing to point to. It's just completely unfair. Through it all my beautiful, strong Mom has had one consistent thought and comment..."I'm fighting this." That's the Wife, Mom, Grandma, Best Friend, and Donna we all love. Team Donna.
