Donna Lee Call

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Donna Lee Bacon Call went home to her heavenly father May 22, 2016, after her battle with cancer.

She was born to Vearl and Delores Bacon in Wichita, KS Sept 30, 1943 during World War II.  At that time her dad was serving in the military and did not get to meet her until she was 9 months old.  Donna and her mother followed her dad around in a trailer from army base to army base until the war ended.  They returned and settled in her father’s hometown, McPherson Kansas.  There they built a home for their family, and that is where Donna remained until she was 18 years old.  She attended several local schools in McPherson and the state of Kansas including:  Wickersham School, Lincoln Elementary School, McPherson Middle school,  McPherson High School, Kansas City Bible School.  She also attended Bethany Nazarene College.

Donna was a very strong Christian her whole life.  She was saved and became a believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ at the age of 5 in a Nazarene church, and she faithfully attended and supported many churches with family and friends.  She has attended First Assembly of God (Greeley, CO), Sunny View Nazarene (Greeley, CO), Timberline Church (Ft. Collins, CO), First Assembly of God (Windsor, CO), and Calvary Chapel (Greeley, CO).  Donna was so thankful for the life circumstances God blessed her with; raised in a loving, christian home, married to a godly man, and lived in the middle of this big beautiful country.  Greeley has been home to Donna for 45 years, and it was very good to her.  She had many good friends and enjoyed living near her family.  She loved life.

Donna worked at various jobs.  She groomed local dogs for years and bred many toy poodles.  She assisted her husband in their CPA business and worked countless hours as a pharmacy technician at Northern Medical Center.  She loved to play the piano, sing, work at her church, and also had a special love for painting and art.  In 2004, she returned to college to receive her Bachelor’s of Nursing from the University of Northern Colorado.  She went on to achieve her Master’s Degree and became a board certified Nursing Practitioner.  She served the public at the Little Clinic for the past 4.5 years. Although in her heart, her greatest accomplishment and joy was her seven beautiful children and their families.

Donna Lee is survived by her husband of 35 years, Darrell A. Call, and her seven children: Nelda and Dennis Michels, Carmen and Damian Kilday, Quinton and Julie Reiff, Forrest Reiff, Darrenn and Willow Call, DeaAnna and Aaron Beaty, and Donnell and Kyle Achziger. Donna Lee was the oldest of ten siblings. She is also survived by her 3 brothers and 6 sisters, 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Before her passing, Donna asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the following local churches in her honor.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her -- her final words to us are:

“All praise to Jesus Christ our Savior!  “Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. AMEN.” Jude  1:24-25
