During  last few weeks, Don has been experiencing shortness of breath and minor chest tightening. He mentioned this to his primary care Doctor, who recommended he get a stress test to find out what's going on. He had the stress test on Friday, October 14th.  The stress test immediately indicated an abnormality. He was then told to go straight to the cardiologist's office where he met with the doctor right away. The doctor looked at the results from stress test and ordered a heart catheritization for the following Monday. He told Don to take it easy all weekend, put him on blood thinners and gave him some nitroglycerin tablets in case he started having chest pain.  Sunday morning he woke up experiencing shortness of breath, high blood pressure, excelerated heart rate, and swollen legs. Mary drove him to the ER immediately where he was admitted for observation prior to the catheritization that was scheduled for the next  day. During the test the next morning, it was determined that he has a 90% blockage in the left main artery to the heart, and a 70% blockage in a smaller artery, also on the left side.  The doctor determined that the best course of action was bypass surgery to repair his heart. The surgery is scheduled for Thursday, October 20th at 8am. Please join us in praying for a smooth procedure and a quick recovery. Don is a strong, otherwise healthy, husband, father and grandfather to 5 beautiful kiddos. His family and faith are strong and we know he will come out of this stronger and healthier than ever before. We appreciate any and all prayers!!
