On Nov. 22 I was seen in the ER to evaluate some subtle vision changes. After a CT scans and an MRI I was diagnosed with a large tumor in the left parietal lobe of my brain. Two days later a biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of Glioblastoma Grade IV or GBM. Pat and I had to make some big decisions in a short period of time. We have heard from many of you with words of encouragement, support and prayers. Believe me this has helped sustain us through some difficult moments and hard decisions. This has made Pat and I aware of how much we need your words of encouragement and prayers to get through this. In order to stay in touch with everyone (and avoid Face Book) we have chosen to use this Caring Bridge site as a means to connect with family and friends and to keep everyone updated as to how this journey unfolds. Thanks for any words of hope or encouragement that you would like to offer, they are so helpful. Please feel free to share this information and this site with anyone else who would like to be included and accompany us on the journey ahead.

El 22 de noviembre fui visto en la sala de emergencias para evaluar algunos cambios sutiles en la vista. Después de una tomografía computarizada y una resonancia magnética, me diagnosticaron un tumor en el lóbulo parietal izquierdo de mi cerebro. Dos días después una biopsia confirmó el diagnóstico de Glioblastoma Grado IV o GBM. Pati y yo tuvimos que tomar grandes decisiones en poco tiempo. Hemos escuchado de muchos de ustedes con palabras de aliento, apoyo y oraciones. Créame, estos han ayudado a sostenernos en algunos momentos difíciles y con decisiones difíciles. Esto nos ha hecho saber a Pati y a mí cuánto necesitamos sus palabras de aliento y oraciones para superar esto.
