We have been thrown a curve ball  - a nasty one. On Nov 27  at Don’s GP’s office in Edmonton  - Don was given some medical news that has heavily and sadly  impacted our lives.  Don received some test results that suspected tonsil cancer that  spread into his lymph nodes.  To make a long story short -   14 days later  - we are currently in Arizona-  not too far away from our home in Arizona at the Mayo Clinic recovering from surgery.  Dr. Nagel - an ENT surgeon that specializes in this disease performed an 8 hour surgery that  ended in a successful removal of the cancer.  Now the next step is a treatment plan that will be  designed by a team of specialists here at the clinic.  We are anxious to discuss our plan with that team early next week and we will keep you posted. If all goes well with those results - statistics say that we have an 85% chance of beating this. We are asking for your support and prayers during this challenging time for us. We are ready to fight this ugly disease and we know we aren’t alone because we have such a beautiful family and an amazing group of friends that will help guide us through this journey.  It will be much easier to post updates on this site so that I don’t miss anybody. #TeamDon !
