Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Don had a CT Scan last week of his lungs.     He was diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma in his left lung.     As you can imagine the App;er's  days are now filled with lab tests, scans and doctors visits as they plan his course of treatment.   Today he had an MRI of his brain and thankfully there is no metastasis to his brain.    He also had pulmonary studies done today but I don't know the results of that yet.   Next Monday he will have a PET Scan.  Tuesday Don and Carol will meet with the oncologist, pulmonary doctor, and cardiac thoracic surgeon to make a plan for how to treat this beast.    Carol and Don will probably get a second option at MD Anderson in Houston.

As you can imagine all of us who know and love Don are reeling with this unexpected news.    Because there are so many people who love Don and Carol we thought using Caring Bridge would be a way to keep everyone informed of what is happening and also for you to leave your comments.

Please share this site with anyone whom you think might want to know this information.  We will try to keep it updated.  Please join us in praying for them, knowing that God is in control of this situations.  Audrey Myers
