Donald Schmid

After not feeling well for most of the summer Donald was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was admitted to Good Samaritan Medical Center this morning to begin chemotherapy. He will be at the hospital for 4-6 weeks to hopefully achieve initial remission. Although it's a scary time now the staff is very supportive and comforting.  We are relieved to get a diagnose and to know what we are dealing with.  We are ready to fight this battle and win and get Don back to his old self again. He would love visitors but would apprecaite phone calls to check if he is feeling well enough for it before coming.  It is extermely important that anyone who is feeling even the slightest bit sick not visit as his immune system will be severly compromised.
