Dad battled through several medical challenges. Most recently he was diagnosed with severe dementia. Combined with his other conditions, his lack of desire to eat or drink, along with aspirating when he did, made for a very challenging last couple of months as he moved between hospitals and transitional care. Dad passed peacefully in his sleep yesterday, Aug 20, at about 5:45am, at JA Wedum, a hospice in Brooklyn Park. The staff was caring and gracious. Thank you all for your prayers for comfort and peace; they are being answered in the day-to-day interactions, phone calls, and messages. Dad’s funeral will be next week Monday morning.
