Sorry that this first entry is going to be so long. This will have 2 years of updates on it. Dominick’s story started just before dec 20, 2016. He was suffering from episodes of vomiting and pain, he went to the doctor who sent him to a gastroenterologist who performed several Tests to try to find what was going on all those tests came back negative so they sent him for an endoscopic ultrasound that test showed that he had a stone in his common bile duct. they called us And said that we needed to go in and have it removed as soon as possible. So Dominick went in on December 20 to have an ERCP done. during the ERCP The doctor punctured his common bile duct and three places. The results of that lead to Dominick having severe pancreatitis and septicemia. DominickEnded up in the ICU on life support for two weeks with multiple organ shutdown and A fungus infection in his blood he also developed necrotizing pancreatitis. They gave him a 5% chance of survival. He ended up surviving and two weeks later he came off of life support he spent about a month in the hospital and was able to come home. He was home for three days and then started vomiting profusely again. We went back to the hospital and they sent him up to U Of M. They discovered that his intestines were so swollen that nothing is getting through and that One Bile leak had been missed, so Dominick had been leaking by all for a good month. Dominick and it up with a feeding tube and PTC tubes to drain the bio out of his body. That continued for 4 months and then they were removed. He seem to get better and did really well for 10 months. Then he had a relapse and another case of pancreatitis which necrotized Dominick got better and he did really well 5 months after that he had another case. And we’ve had him more frequently ever Sense. Dominick is been a regular patient at University of Michigan, they are trying to figure out why he keeps having these cases of pancreatitis they know that he does not have chronic pancreatitis he’s been tested for all genetics in immunological possibilities and they all come back negative we know the surgery did not help but there was something wrong to begin with going back to the original surgery there was no stone ever found. All these cases of necrotizing pancreatitis have destroyed Dominick splenic vein and have caused a thrombosis in his portal, IMV , and SMV veins And have caused cirrhosis of the liver they have also killed part of his pancreas and I have heard his bowels. His lungs are also suffering and Dominick is no longer able to make lipase. At this moment Dominick is facing the possibility of a liver transplant parts of his bow and have caused cirrhosis of the liver they have also killed part of his pancreas and I have heard his bowels. His lungs are also suffering and Dominick is no longer able to make lipase. At this moment Dominick is Being fed with TPN through a pick line in his arm. And they are talking about the possibility of doing a transplant of the liver and parts of the bowel And being grafting. It is possible that while they’re in there they most likely will remove the dead parts of the pancreas and possibly the spleen and hopefully fix his hernia. We are also in talks with Cleveland clinic to get him in there to be seen to hopefully find out what is causing all of this. We know that this is a hard long road but through this we have kept our faith in God and we are standing strong we appreciate all the prayers and support we have received.
