Richard “Dick” Knutstrom under the care of the Great River Medical Center Hospice House. Richard was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus in late August of 2017. Although surgery was not an option, he and the family chose to seek care that would provide him the best quality of life for the longest time possible.
Richard has impacted many of lives in our community either directly or indirectly serving on committees that led to the formation of many entities such as: Oak Lane Nursing Home, bringing a doctor to town, founder of the Ambulance Service and being one of the first EMT’s, active in Booster Club for years and the list goes on.
Richard and his wife Marlene of 60 plus years would more than welcome your comments , words of encouragement, and any other memories you could offer up. Even a “one-liner” such as “Thanks for selling me that new Chevy red four wheel drive with the 400 cubic inch engine – best vehicle I ever had! ” or “Thanks for come pulling me out of the ditch at 2:00 a.m. and telling me to just come pay me when you can”. Really anything would be sincerely welcomed and would give him a spiritual lift.
