Dirk was diagnosed this week with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. As you can imagine, this diagnosis was a shock to his family, friends and to his colleagues. As you know, Dirk is a person who would give you the shirt off his back. He is a dedicated Hockey coach for Charlie and Freddy, a supportive daddy to Jane, an amazing dentist, avid outdoorsman, adoring husband and a proud dad to baby Nora just a few weeks ago.
Dirk and Alicia appreciate the outpouring of support they have received this week. They are headed to see a lymphoma specialist in the next week to find out the treatment plan for Dirk's cancer. As you may know, Mantle Cell is as rare as Dirk. This site will be updated regularly to provide communication to all of you so that Alicia and Dirk can concentrate on their battle at hand and loving on their kids.
It goes without saying that we all want to do something to help. If the Menard family needs anything we will post it here, too. But for now, please keep their family in your prayers for healing, for peace, for skilled physicians and the miracle of modern medicine.
