We deeply wish we were not needing to open a Caringbridge account but life had a different plan. Shock does not describe our feeling when a fairly routine chest xray (for a very bad cold) showed suspicious spots. The last two weeks have been filled with appointments, tests, and scans, as those of you who have been through this know so well. Dick has renal cell carcinoma with many metastasized nodules in both lungs, and one small nodule in his brain (cerebellum). Plus a cantaloupe size tumor on his kidney. He has been and still is basically symptom free. He has limited his "wood chopping times" to 15 minute intervals because he is getting tired more quickly.,
We are at our Oregon home and are very comfortable beginning treatment and care here. We are huddling as a family on this journey. We miss our friends and support in Holland, and are grateful for this way to connect .
