A couple years back I was diagnosed with kidney disease brought on by many years as a Type 2 diabetic. As the disease progressed, my nephrologist recommended I get on a transplant list. My wife, Joni, put feelers out on Facebook looking for anyone who might get tested to be a match to donate a kidney. I have been humbled time and time again as family members, friends and people who barely know me have been willing to give. Last summer, Mike and Becky Vannoy (my youngest daughter’s in-laws) announced to us that Becky was a successful match to give me the gift of life. On Christmas they brought us news that our operation had been approved by the UW Medical Center….that day is now scheduled for Valentine’s Day 2018. Many people have asked us to keep them posted on the whole process…..this site is for that. Join us in this incredible journey.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight” That’s my life verse and it really hits home now more than ever.
