Two days ago, mom went to the ER with excruciating back pain. After a sub-par workup, she was sent home with some pain meds and a diagnosis of compressed discs. The next day the pain was so much worse, we had to call 911 and bring her back. This time, a full blood panel led to a CT scan, which showed spots on her spine and one on her liver. She was admitted around midnight after a long agonizing day. The doctor confirmed it is cancer, but we don't know more than that yet.
