Welcome to my CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As many of you know, a routine blood test for an annual physical set off a whirlwind of activity at the end of February, which saw me admitted to UNC Chapel Hill with a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia! Things happened so quickly after the initial diagnosis, that I didn't have an opportunity to talk to a lot of my friends and coworkers.  The outpouring of support, love, and well wishes has helped me traverse this new landscape, and I truly appreciate all your offers of help and continued prayers during this long and difficult journey.

We'll post updates here on treatment and how I'm doing.  I feel truly blessed to live in a country which provides me with such a wonderful team of really smart doctors and nurses, the most up to date treatment available, in the best possible setting.

It's going to be a long treatment regimen, and there may be days or weeks where it is the same 'ol, same 'ol.  That's a good thing!  It means I'm sitting back, waiting for my body to "do its thing" finding ways to entertain myself, and thinking about all the love and support of my family, friends and colleagues from around the world.  Thank you!!!!
