Diane Rodriguez

In 2018, Diane was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. She received the best treatment possible over the two years, but about a month ago she suffered a stroke while visiting her mother in San Jose on her way to directing up at SF Playhouse and that shifted her health condition. Diane was a true force of nature and her impact in the field of theatre is incredible.

“Hello,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to let you know, that my bride of 43 years, the incomparable Diane Rodriguez, passed away at 12:50 a.m. today – Good Friday. She was a beloved partner…a beautiful wife and I am grief-stricken.

Diane left a mark on this planet, and I was lucky to be on that ride. She has so many friends here in Los Angeles, around the country and all over the world that will keep her in their hearts for years to come. She was also a terrific aunt to her niece and nephew, Gabby and Mario. And she got her style from her peerless Mother, Helen.

I appreciate all the outpouring of love that has surrounded Diane during these final days. I know that love will keep on coming.

I will miss her beyond words.
