Diane MacKay Abner

In early June, I found a lump in my right breast.  After a biopsy, it was confirmed as cancer.  Over the last several weeks I have meet with an amazing team of physicians and caregivers who are knowledgeable, compassionate, and empathetic.  I feel I am in excellent hands.  I will have a double mastectomy on Thursday, August 10.  I expect to spend one or two nights in the hospital.  After that, I will stay with my sister Mychelle as I rest and let my body heal.  My advice to all women, is that if you have anything even remotely suspect, have it evaluated as soon as possible.  The medical team at Centennial Women's Health Center are amazing and thank goodness they aggressively pursued a diagnosis. My blessings are many, due to the outpouring of love and support from family, friends and co-workers, I know a positive outlook has a lot to do with how one heals and deals with a challenging situation such as this. I cannot express how much it means to me have the love and support of so many. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
