On Monday Sept 12th, Diane suffered a major heart attack and was taken by ambulance to United Hospital where she suffered a brief cardiac arrest. While at United she underwent emergency surgery to replace an aortic valve and have a stent placed. Although the surgery was a success her heart sustained severe damage due to the cardiogenic shock and she was transferred to Abbott Northwestern to be placed on a heart and lung machine. At this time her heart is not working on it's own and is requiring life support to sustain her. She remains in critical condition in hopes her heart muscle will begin to strengthen over the coming days and weeks. Progress may be slow but this site will be updated regularly with any changes. Please keep her and her family and all the medical staff involved in her care in your thoughts and prayers. God bless!
